🍂 Exploring Vancouver Island This Fall

Vancouver Island View

As the seasons shift, Vancouver Island shows off a quieter kind of beauty. While the east coast of Canada is famous for fiery displays of maples, our forests here take a different approach.

You won’t find endless stretches of scarlet and crimson, but what you will find is a stunning mix of golds, yellows, and soft russets set against deep evergreens — a contrast that feels uniquely west coast.

I’ve refreshed my Fall Foliage article with the best spots to see these colours across the Island. From riverside maples to trails where light filters through golden canopies, these are some of my favourite places to soak in autumn on Vancouver Island.

New (Member Only) Hidden Gem

I’m also sharing a brand-new hidden gem that’s steeped in history and raw coastal beauty. Imagine a place where crumbling remnants tell stories of the past, while driftwood, waves, and wilderness surround you. It’s remote, a little eerie, and absolutely unforgettable. If you’re craving a spot far from the usual tourist trails, this one’s for you.

Hidden Gem

Tucked away on a rugged shoreline lies a forgotten site where nature and history collide.

No matter where you decide to roam, have a fantastic weekend!

Vancouver Island View This week, I’ve updated two of my most popular articles: Port Renfrew’s biggest trees and Cape Scott Provincial Park. Both destinations showcase the raw, untamed beauty of Vancouver Island. It's the kind of experiences that make you feel small in the best possible way. The catch? These areas aren’t always the easiest to reach. Rugged backroads often stand between willing explorers and the magic of places like the Red Creek Fir or the windswept shores of Cape Scott....
