Spring is in the air?

Vancouver Island View

Giving you ideas on the best ways to explore Vancouver Island.

Despite the warning of a pending snowfall that's supposed to start happening this weekend, several signs of an early spring are popping up all over.

The sea lions have already started gathering and frolicking among the rocks at French Creek Marina. Speculation is that the annual Herring Run will be early this year.

It's such an incredible phenomenon you shouldn't miss. I'll do my best to update you when all the action starts.

This, plus the fact my Rhodos and even Magnolia trees have buds growing already, put me in the mood to update an article all about things for families to do during Spring Break.

Best of all, last weekend, I was able to explore a hidden gem that's been on my list of places to visit for a while. All the details are below.

What's New & Updated On Vancouver Island View

Spring Break Ideas

Whether you're planning for little ones, independent teens, or the entire family, this guide is packed with ideas that promise fun for everyone.

The best part? Many of these activities can be enjoyed year-round, meaning you can revisit this list longer after Spring Break ends.

Victoria's Inner Harbour

When creating my Victoria Travel Guide, I realized quite a few content holes existed on my website. One missing piece now rectified is all about the sights in Victoria's Inner Harbour. I'm always amazed at how much time I can spend in this little area, no matter how often I visit the city.

Latest Hidden Gem

Tucked away just outside Nanaimo lies a beautiful natural sanctuary largely undiscovered by most. This unique coastal habitat is home to an incredible variety of wildlife, including rare bird species and abundant marine life.

Wherever you decide to roam, have a great weekend!
