This Week’s Finds: A Secret Trail + Two Must-Do Adventures

Vancouver Island View

If you’ve been craving a little fresh air lately, this week’s lineup is a good one. Three completely different adventures, each with that “totally worth it” feeling at the end.

1. Explore the wild side of Vancouver Island without the added stress of getting there.

San Josef Bay has become quite popular over the last few years (rightly so!), but the road to it hasn't improved. It's extremely rough.

Most car rental companies don't allow travel on this logging road, and many locals are deterred by the frequent warning of flat tires.

That's where Cove Adventure Tours comes in. They offer the convenience of getting you there and back, plus give you a guided hike and ample time to explore the beach on your own.

More info below.

2. Christie Falls in Full Spring Flow
This is one of those hikes that delivers every time. Just outside Ladysmith, Christie Falls follows a flat, easy trail for approximately 3 km, then winds up through a lush forest before revealing several waterfalls. It's especially beautiful right now with all the spring runoff.

More info below.

3. April's Hidden Gem

If you’re looking for something a little different, I recently discovered a unique trail in Qualicum Beach. And it's such a fun find. It’s more of a wandering, exploratory walk than a structured hike, and full of surprises along the way.

More info below.

Beautiful Christie Falls

This beautiful area of the Cowichan Valley boasts several waterfalls. If you are a waterfall seeker like me, the trek to Christie Falls in Ladysmith is most definitely worth it!

April's Hidden Gem

A whimsical, woodland trail in Qualicum Beach full of hidden treasures. This one is easy walking for all ages.

Have a great weekend!
