Where to Wander on Vancouver Island This Week

Vancouver Island View

If you’ve been waiting for that unmistakable mix of twinkling lights, handmade treasures, and the smell of baked goods… the wait is over!

My updated guide to Christmas Markets on Mid-Vancouver Island is now live, and it’s packed with festive events happening all through November and December.

While the markets bring the sparkle, nature brings the drama. Thanks to all that rain, the waterfalls are absolutely roaring right now. If you’re looking for a great one to chase, I have a list of my top 20.

When you need a gentler pace, I’ve also got a few lovely spots for a peaceful wander.

Read below for all the details.

Markets Galore!

On any given weekend from now until mid-December, you'll find a Christmas market that's sure to help you find gifts for everyone on your list.

Spectacular Waterfalls

This list of my favourites should help you discover a waterfall trail near you.

Buttertubs Marsh

For a quieter approach to nature, head to Buttertubs Marsh in Nanaimo. It's so lovely at this time of year.

Hidden Gem

While not a new hidden gem, this spot in Ladysmith is a favourite of mine during the fall. Quiet, out of the way, and absolutely gorgeous.

As always, thank you for exploring the Island with me. Have a great week!

~ Kim
