Favourite Vancouver Island Road Trips

Vancouver Island View

We just got back from a family road trip in the interior, with Revelstoke being our main point of interest. It's a pretty little town, with lots of great places to eat and things to see and do.

However, by the time our road trip was nearing the end I was more than ready to come back home. Vancouver Island really is a very special spot.

And I have several great island road trips that showcase what I love most about this beautiful rock.

Perhaps one of them will inspire you to venture out this long weekend!

Victoria to Parksville

This road trip from Victoria to Parksville is packed with kid-friendly attractions, hands-on wildlife experiences, and easy coastal strolls. With short drives and fun-filled stops along the way, it’s the perfect getaway for families of all ages.

Pacific Marine Circle Route

This one is a MUST do! People always underestimate how many incredible places there are to stop at along the way. It's imperative that you stay at least one night in either Sooke or Port Renfrew to make the most of your time.

Cowichan Valley

There’s something deeply satisfying about a road trip that winds through charming small towns, coastal viewpoints, forest trails, and local favourites. On the journey through the backroads of the Cowichan Valley, that’s exactly what you'll experienced.

Oceanside Route

The Old Island Highway, also known as the Oceanside Route, runs parallel to the Island’s eastern shores and features fantastic views of the Salish Sea. This scenic route crosses Parksville, Qualicum Beach, Lighthouse Country, Royston, Courtenay, Comox, Black Creek, and Campbell River.

Vancouver Island North

Explore the less travelled roads of Vancouver Island North to experience culturally rich towns, small islands full of increcible history, gorgeous scenery and plenty of wildlife.

Have a great long weekend!

Vancouver Island View Parksville is such a fun place to be in the summer. As much as I treasure the peaceful pace of the winter months, I have to admit there's an energy here right now that's hard not to love. Beachfest is in full swing, and Parksville Beach has become the heart of it all. On any given day you'll find musicians performing in the gazebo (and sometimes on the main stage), food trucks serving up tasty treats, families strolling the shoreline, and the incredible sand sculptures...
