Parksville is the place to be this summer

Vancouver Island View

Parksville is such a fun place to be in the summer.

As much as I treasure the peaceful pace of the winter months, I have to admit there's an energy here right now that's hard not to love.

Beachfest is in full swing, and Parksville Beach has become the heart of it all. On any given day you'll find musicians performing in the gazebo (and sometimes on the main stage), food trucks serving up tasty treats, families strolling the shoreline, and the incredible sand sculptures waiting to be admired.

If you're planning a day trip or a weekend getaway, now is one of my favourite times to explore the Oceanside region.

Thank You!

One of the most rewarding parts of creating the new guide Vancouver Island's Best Hidden Gems has been hearing from readers who've already started exploring its pages.

The kind words and thoughtful messages have been incredibly heart-warming. When you spend so much time researching, photographing, writing, and designing something, there's nothing better than knowing others are enjoying it too.

If you're ready to discover 20 of Vancouver Island's lesser-known beaches, waterfalls, forests, and scenic places, I'd love for you to take a look.
